BIS organises awareness programme in Anantnag

Anantnag, Dec 29: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Jammu and Kashmir branch office conducted a sensitisation programme for Sarpanches and Panchayat secretaries of 9 blocks of district Anantnag in 2nd Phase at Meeting Hall of PWD Bungalow, Anantnag on 29th December 2023.

A statement said that the programme was conducted by Standard Promotion Officer (SPO), Ashish Kumar Dwivedi, BIS-JKBO and BIS Resource Person, Mehak Rasool was also present on the occasion.

During the programme, Sarpanches and Panchayat Secretaries from the block became part of this programme which was attended by more than 50 PRI people as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Dwivedi gave an overview of the working of BIS and the purpose of holding the sensitisation programme for Sarpanches and Panchayat Representatives. He explained the need to look for ISI-marked products for the betterment of the people on the whole.

“There are mandatory and non-mandatory ISI-marked products being produced by factories and BIS provides licenses to these factories who adopt standards of BIS. It is in the best interest of the people in general and country in particular to opt ISI marked products which helps country to grow,” he added.
