Bhutan monks delegation on Ladakh visit to offer prayers in monasteries.

Ladakh, India, October 19: A delegation of senior monks from the Central Monastic Body of Bhutan arrived in Ladakh to visit Leh Palace and several monasteries including Thiksey, Hemis and Stagna, said a press statement from the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) on Thursday. The delegation led by the Tshogi Lopen Sangay Khandu arrived in Delhi on October 16 for a six-day visit and then reached Ladakh. According to the press statement, during their stay, they will also interact with the Ladakh Gompa Association and Ladakh Buddhist Association and will also meet Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council. Cabinet okays Rs 20,774 Cr inter-state transmission system for Ladakh mega solar project

New Delhi, Oct 18: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Wednesday approved the Rs 20,773.7 crore project on Green Energy Corridor Phase-II – Inter-State Transmission System for the 13 GW Renewable Energy Project in Ladakh. The project is targeted to be set up by FY 2029-30 in which the Central financial assistance at 40 percent of the project cost which works out to Rs 8,309.48 crore, according to an official statement issued after the CCEA meeting. The project will create a state-of-the-art inter-state transmission infrastructure to link the Ladakh green energy project to the National Grid. Communication station setup at world’s highest battlefield in Ladakh

Ladakh, Oct 12: In a first, Army in collaboration with BSNL, has established a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) at the forward posts of the world's highest battlefield in Ladakh sector. The spokesperson of the Fire and Fury Corps, which oversees the Ladakh sector, posted on X (formerly Twitter): "#Siachen Warriors, in collaboration with BSNL, have established the first-ever BSNL BTS at the forward posts of the highest battlefield on October 6th, to enhance mobile communication for the soldiers deployed at over 15,500 feet."
