Country-made rusted magazines, rounds recovered in Jakh pond: SSP Samba

Jammu, Nov 7: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Benam Tosh Tuesday said that four rusted loaded magazines with live rounds, retrieved during the cleaning of a pond in Jakh, seemed to have been dumped there long ago.

He stated that they all appeared to be country-made though the investigation was underway. “This morning we retrieved four loaded magazines with loose rounds when an old village pond in Jakh area of Vijaypur in Samba was being cleaned up as a routine exercise. They all were Indian-made rusted magazines and rounds. It seemed as if someone, while passing-by, would have thrown them in the pond. Further investigation was being conducted,” SSP Samba said.
