Srinagar, Apr 21: In a continued crackdown against the drug menace, Police in Budgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police statement said that a police party of Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint near Higher Secondary School Zohama, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Sajad Muzaffar Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, resident of Surasyar Chadoora. During search, Charas sticks weighing about 270 grams was recovered from his possession. Subsequently, he was arrested and a case vide FIR No.72/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been initiated.
Police urged common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. They also requested people to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, and assured the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
