No fuel for riders without helmets in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, Dec 11: The district administration in Ganderbal has imposed a ban on selling of fuel to two-wheelers who ride without helmets and has asked all petrol pump owners to install CCTV cameras in their fuel stations.

According to an order issued by the District Magistrate Ganderbal, Shyambir, they have initiated a ban on selling petrol to two-wheeler riders without helmets.

In addition to the ban, petrol pump and filling station proprietors have been instructed to install CCTV cameras that provide clear footage of buyers. The decision follows a surge in accidents, particularly involving two-wheelers, prompting the authorities to take preventive measures.

District Magistrate Ganderbal has directed a strict adherence to this order which would empower the Tehsil Magistrates to inspect the footage of any petrol station to find out any violation in this regard, which according to the order would be dealt with seriously under the law.
