NATO Sect. Gen reiterates call for Afghan ceasefire

Kabul: NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has reiterated his call for Afghan ceasefire. Stoltenberg, at the first session of the NATO’s foreign ministers meeting on Tuesday, said: “We call on Taliban to reduce violence, but of course, that’s only the first step.” What we need to see is a lasting peace agreement. And part of that has to be a ceasefire. So, the reduction of violence should only be the first step,” the NATO chief said, adding that “The ambition is intra-Afghan peace solution. Pakistan Rangers violates ceasefire along IB in J&K’s Kathua

Kathua: Pakistani Rangers opened fire at border outposts along the International Border (IB) in Hiranagar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district, drawing retaliation from the Border Security Force, officials said on Wednesday. The firing from across the border in Karol Krishna, Pansar and Gurnam border outposts started around 9.50 pm on Tuesday and the cross-border firing between the two sides continued till 4 am Wednesday, the officials said. There was no report of any damage on the Indian side.
