Rajouri, May 04: Authorities on Sunday destroyed two high explosive mortar shells that were found lying in fields in Chingus Kaneti village of Rajouri district.
Officials said that during ploughing of agriculture works in Ward No. 3 of Chingus Kateri, two rusted mortar shells were found in a field.
The shells were unearthed while a local resident, Shakeel Ahmed, son of Mohd Rashid, was plowing his land using a tractor on Sunday morning.
Locals raised alarm and police team reached at the site and bomb disposal squad was also called in after which both these shells were destroyed at the site.
Authorities have also started investigation into the matter.
