Jammu, Jun 15: Three senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir (now AGMUT) cadre have been empanelled for holding posts at the level of Additional Director General (ADG) or ADG equivalent at the Centre.
These IPS officers of AGMUT cadre included Mukesh Singh of 1996 batch; Vijay Kumar of 1997 batch and Viplav Kumar Choudhry of 1997 batch. Mukesh Singh, who also served as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu zone, was sent on central deputation on September 19, 2023 and appointed as Inspector General in Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for five years. Vijay Kumar, who served as ADGP Law & Order, J&K was transferred to Delhi segment of AGMUT cadre by MHA in January this year.
He is presently serving as Special CP Delhi Police. Viplav Kumar Choudhry has been on deputation to Government of India, National Investigation Agency (NIA) since September 27, 2017.
These officers were among 38 IPS officers, whose empanelment was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) of the MHA for holding posts at the Centre at the level of ADG or ADG Equivalent on June 14, 2025.
