76 passengers booked for ticketless travel in Jammu division

Three booked under PSA for ‘subversive activities’ in north Kashmir’s Sopore

Jammu, Aug 23: Jammu Railway Division Saturday booked 76 passengers for travelling without ticket and realised Rs 36,770 fine from them.

Action was taken when the Jammu (Railway) division conducted surprise ticket checking between Katra- Jammu-Kathua rail section on August 23, 2025.

This intensive ticket checking campaign was conducted by the ticket checking staff in Jammu Division today under the leadership of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal.

Assistant Commercial Manager Manoj Kumar and Ticket Inspector Jammu Abdul Rashid along with other ticket checking staff thoroughly checked train numbers 12445, 12920 12472, 12238 and 12919.

“In the drive, a total amount of Rs 36,770 was collected as fine from 76 passengers. This ticket checking campaign will be run from time to time in the division. So that passengers traveling without ticket can be curbed,” Singhal stated and appealed to all the passengers to travel in Indian Railways with valid ticket or pass.
