Jammu, Aug 21: One person died and 40 others were injured after a bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident on Jammu-Pathankot highway in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, officials said.
A police official told Greater Kashmir that a bus bound for Shri Mata Vishno Devi Shrine crashed at Jatwal in Samba district, leaving one pilgrim dead on the spot and 40 others injured.
He said the injured were shifted to AIIMS Vijaypur for treatment.
The official said the accident took place at 3:20 am when the bus bearing registration number UP81BT 7688 overturned near High School Jatwal in Ghagwal tehsil due to a tire burst.
