KPDCL announces scheduled power shutdown in Kashmir parts

Srinagar, Sep 09: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced multiple power shutdowns in Srinagar and Baramulla districts this week to facilitate repair and maintenance works on key transmission lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, the 33KV Amargarh–Arampora line will remain shut from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on September 10 to replace damaged poles near Al-Noor Colony. As a result, the 33/11KV receiving stations at Arampora, Pazipora, Sher Colony and Bugoo will remain off, affecting power supply to these areas and adjoining localities.Jammu and Kashmir Travel

On the same day, branch cutting and pruning of trees will be carried out along the 33KV Bemina–Barbarshah TRC Tap line (backup line) between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Officials clarified that this shutdown will not affect supply to any receiving station or area.

A separate shutdown has been scheduled on September 15 for the installation of 33KV isolators on the GIS Harwan–Shalimar line. The 33/11KV receiving station at Shalimar will remain off, disrupting supply to SKUAST, Teilbal, Arbal, Deewan Colony and adjoining areas from 10:00 am to 10:30 am and again from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.

Meanwhile, on September 14, the 33KV Rawalpora–Rangreth line will remain shut from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm for stabilisation work. Power supply to Rangreth, Doodhganga, JAKLI, Wanbal, Gogo, Wavoosa, Rawalpora, IE Rangreth, Sheikhpora, Kralpora and adjoining areas will remain affected.

Officials have urged residents in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements during the scheduled outages.
