Jammu, Sep 11: MP (Rajya Sabha) Ghulam Ali Khatana has announced the allocation of Rs 3 Crore under MPLADS for the urgent restoration and relief works in Jammu & Kashmir, said a party statement. The announcement was made in the presence of BJP J&K President Sat Sharma, General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Koul, Vice-President Zulfikar Ali Choudhary, General Secretary Baldev Singh Billawaria, and other senior leaders at the BJP Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

The funds will be utilised to address the extensive damage caused by incessant rains, flash floods, and related calamities that have severely affected public infrastructure and disrupted livelihoods across the Union Territory.

Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma expressed gratitude to MP Khatana for setting an example of responsibility and public service. “The BJP remains committed to standing with the people of J&K in this hour of distress. Our representatives will ensure that every possible resource is mobilized for relief and rehabilitation,” he said.

Sat Sharma further said that all elected representatives of the party have contributed and will continue to contribute and coordinate relief measures, ensuring that the affected families receive sustained support until normalcy is restored.

Ashok Koul, while appreciating the initiative, reiterated the party’s resolve to provide timely assistance. He remarked that the calamity has caused widespread hardship, and it is the duty of public representatives to extend maximum support. He said that the BJP has always believed in service before self, and this contribution reflects our dedication to the people.

In his statement, MP Khatana said that it is not just an allocation of funds, but a commitment to the welfare of our people. He said that the affected population deserves swift restoration of infrastructure and livelihoods. He expressed his firm stand in contributing his MPLADS resources for this noble cause.
