Drone activity without prior permission banned in Anantnag, say police advisory

Anantnag, Sep 20: District Police Anantnag on Saturday issued a public advisory prohibiting the use of drones, UAVs, or any other aerial devices within the district without prior approval from the competent authority, citing prevailing security concerns.

The advisory as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, issued in the interest of public safety, stated that individuals, institutions, media personnel, and event organizers must seek permission well in advance before operating drones.

Police warned that any unauthorized flying would attract strict action under relevant legal provisions, and such equipment may be seized.

The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious drone activity to the nearest police station or on the district helpline numbers 9419051940 and 01932-2222870.

Authorities emphasized that citizens’ cooperation is vital in maintaining peace, safety, and security across the district.
