New Delhi, Oct 27: Major General Yousef Maayouf Saeed Al Hallami, Commander of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Land Forces, began a two-day official visit to India on Monday aimed at strengthening bilateral military cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration in training and capability enhancement.
On his arrival, Maj Gen Al Hallami was accorded a ceremonial welcome and received a detailed briefing on Operation Sindoor. He was also briefed by senior officials from the Directorate General of Information Systems and the Army Design Bureau on India’s defence capabilities and the Army’s Artificial Intelligence roadmap.
On Tuesday, the visiting Commander will lay a wreath at the National War Memorial to honour India’s fallen soldiers. He is also scheduled to visit the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) headquarters, where he will be briefed on indigenous weapon systems and equipment platforms, and hold discussions with Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO. Maj Gen Al Hallami will also meet representatives of Indian defence industries to explore opportunities for joint development and industrial partnerships. The visit marks an important milestone in India–UAE defence cooperation and is expected to further deepen their strategic partnership, contributing to a stronger, future-ready collaboration in military engagement and regional security.
