Crime Branch Kashmir registers FIR against Anantnag man for apple plant fraud

Srinagar Oct 29: The Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir on Wednesday conducted search operations at Village Tendala Gandoh in District Doda in connection with an ongoing investigation into a case of alleged fraudulent overseas job placements.

The searches were carried out at the residential premises of *Farhat Malik, who has been found prima facie involved in FIR No. 02/2025, registered under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) pertaining to cheating and fraud.

According to officials, the case involves allegations of deception and monetary exploitation of individuals under the pretext of providing employment opportunities both abroad and within India. Acting on credible inputs and investigative leads, the Crime Branch initiated searches aimed at recovering incriminating material and evidence linked to the case.

A spokesperson of the Special Crime Wing reaffirmed the department’s commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and justice, particularly in matters involving public trust and financial fraud.
