New Delhi, Nov 2: Lieutenant General Avinash Das, a distinguished ENT surgeon with nearly four decades of service in the Armed Forces Medical Services, has assumed charge as the Commandant of the Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi.

An alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Lt Gen Das has held several key appointments, including Senior Advisor at Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt, and Command Hospital, Lucknow. He has received multiple commendations from the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC), and General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) for his exemplary service.

As Commandant of the Command Hospital (Northern Command), Udhampur, he led the successful relocation of the facility to a new, state-of-the-art building. Lt Gen Das is expected to further strengthen the Army Hospital (R&R)’s reputation for excellence in medical care, research, and education. He aims to enhance innovation, patient care, and professional training, continuing the hospital’s legacy as the premier healthcare institution of the Armed Forces.
