PDP Holds High-Level Meeting on Civilian Deaths and Arrests in Kashmir

Srinagar, February 07: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti chaired a high-level meeting on Friday at the party headquarters in Srinagar. The gathering, attended by senior party leaders, focused on concerns regarding the increasing civilian casualties and detentions under the pretext of security operations in Jammu and Kashmir.

A party spokesperson stated that discussions covered key political and organizational matters, along with the ongoing challenges faced by the region’s residents. During the meeting, PDP also decided to initiate a membership drive, which is set to begin at the party office in Jammu on February 13.

Mehbooba Mufti called on party leaders to take the campaign across Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the party’s reach and support base.

Among the senior leaders present at the meeting were Mir Mohammad Fayaz from Kupwara, Naeem Akhtar, Asiya Naqash, Additional General Secretaries Advocate Nasir Hussain and Rajat Randhawa, along with the party’s Additional Spokesperson.
