Katra-New Delhi special train service extended

Jammu, Jan 8: Jammu Railway Division of the Northern Railway has announced to further extend Katra-New Delhi special train service till January 11, 2026.

“Keeping in view the heavy passenger demand and convenience of travellers, Jammu Railway Division has decided to extend the period of operation of special reserved train numbers 04081 and 04082. This decision has been taken to manage passenger rush during the peak season and to provide a convenient travel option to passengers,” Raghvender Singh, Public Relations Inspector, Jammu Railway Division said.

Giving details about the extended train services, he informed that the service of train number 04081, which was earlier scheduled to operate from December 27 to January 4, 2026, has been extended for two more days. It will have two trips from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra on January 9 and 10, 2026.

Similarly, the service of train number 04082, earlier scheduled to operate from December 28 to January 5, 2026 from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi, has been extended. It will have two trips from Katra to New Delhi on January 10 and 11, 2026.

Regarding the extension of the operation period of this special reserved train service, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Railway Division, Uchit Singhal, stated, “The operation period of this special reserved train has once again been extended as its earlier operations were also successful. This train has proved to be a cost-effective option for passengers. During previous trips, the occupancy of this train was nearly 100 percent. The timing of this train is also convenient for passengers.”

Singhal asked the passengers to check the train schedule on ‘Dial 139’ and NTES before commencing their journey.
