JKEDI trains 224 youth through 21 capacity-building programmes under Mission YUVA

Srinagar, Jan 9: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute) has concluded 21 Capacity Building Programmes under Mission YUVA across the Union Territory, training 224 aspiring and existing entrepreneurs from various districts.

The programmes were organised as part of JKEDI’s ongoing efforts to promote entrepreneurship, self-employment and skill development among youth. The Capacity Building initiatives under Mission YUVA are designed to equip participants with essential entrepreneurial knowledge, practical skills and exposure to business planning, market opportunities, financial literacy and government support mechanisms.

Officials said the curriculum was structured to deliver practical and actionable inputs, covering opportunity identification, business plan formulation, market analysis, branding, regulatory compliance and access to government schemes. The sessions were conducted by JKEDI faculty along with industry experts, ensuring interactive and outcome-oriented learning.

Mission YUVA, or Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan, is a flagship initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship-led employment across Jammu and Kashmir. The programme forms a key pillar of the government’s strategy to empower youth by building a strong ecosystem for innovation, start-ups and enterprise development.

The training programmes were held during December 2025, with JKEDI reiterating its commitment to strengthening the entrepreneurial landscape in the Union Territory. Officials said that through Mission YUVA, the institute continues to support young entrepreneurs by providing them with skills, confidence and institutional backing to create new economic opportunities across Jammu and Kashmir.
