Tata Motors launches All-New Punch

Mumbai, Jan 14: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV) launched the all-new Tata Punch, upgrading India’s best-selling subcompact SUV with improved performance, advanced technology and enhanced safety features at an introductory price starting from Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

A statement said that the refreshed Tata Punch comes with a sharper design, updated interiors and new powertrain options, reinforcing its position in the highly competitive compact SUV segment. The model now offers segment-leading performance with the iTurbo engine and introduces a world-first twin-cylinder iCNG technology paired with an AMT, aimed at improving drivability and boot space without compromising efficiency.

Safety remains a key focus, with the new Punch earning a 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP, further strengthening Tata Motors’ emphasis on occupant protection across its passenger vehicle lineup. Originally launched in October 2021, the Punch pioneered the subcompact SUV category and has since been adopted by nearly 7 lakh customers across India. The new version builds on this legacy by combining improved power delivery, comfort and technology with a bolder, more muscular stance.

Commenting on the launch, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director and CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., said the Punch reflects the evolving aspirations of Indian customers by making the SUV experience more accessible. He said the updated model has been developed based on customer insights and engineered with new-age technologies to offer a faster, smarter and safer driving experience.

According to the company, the new Tata Punch is designed to appeal to urban and semi-urban buyers seeking a compact SUV with strong road presence, modern features and robust safety credentials, while maintaining competitive pricing.
