Bandipora, Jan 19: Volleyball and tug-of-war competitions were organised at NM BHSS Kalosa in Quilmuqam under the Vande Mataram Campaign, with enthusiastic participation from local youth as teams competed in both disciplines, highlighting sportsmanship and growing sporting culture in the zone.
The events, as per DYSS statement were held by Directorate of Youth Services & Sports, in collaboration with the District Administration Bandipora,
The events witnessed enthusiastic participation from the youth of Zone Quilmuqam, with four teams competing in each discipline. The competitions showcased remarkable talent, discipline, and true sportsmanship, reflecting the growing sports culture in the zone.
The programme was conducted under the able guidance of the District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO), Bandipora, Nazir Ahmad Bhat, and was efficiently supervised by the Activity In-charge, Andleeb Manhas, ensuring smooth conduct and successful execution of all activities.
The initiative received an encouraging response from the local youth and aligned well with the objectives of the Vandhe Matharam Campaign, which aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle. The events concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, during which the winner and runner-up teams were awarded trophies. The trophies were presented by Andleeb Manhas, Activity In-charge, DYSSO Bandipora.
The successful conclusion of the competitions reflects the strong coordination and collective efforts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports, the District Administration Bandipora, and local institutions in fostering youth engagement and strengthening sports culture in the zone.
