Srinagar, Jan 21: In a joint raid conducted by Police Post Old Town in coordination with the Geology & Mining Department, Baramulla, strict action was taken against illegal mining activities at Drangbal.
During the operation, one JCB machine and two L&T machines were seized for their involvement in illegal mining activities. In addition, seven vehicles (tipper) were also seized at the spot for operating without valid documents.
All seizures were made after due verification, and legal action under the relevant provisions of the Mines and Minerals Development and Regulation Act (MMDR Act) has been initiated against the violators.
