Srinagar, Mar 9: Incarcerated Member of Parliament Baramulla Engineer Rashid has extended heartfelt greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the holy month of Ramdhan, urging them to maintain peace and restraint during this sacred period.
In a message addressed to the people, Er Rashid conveyed his warm wishes to every household and prayed for peace, harmony and well-being for the people of the region.
Referring to the assassination of Iran’s spiritual leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei, Er Rashid said that people across the region expressed their grief and protest by coming onto the streets. However, he expressed deep pain over incidents of violence that took place during the protests.
Er Rashid said that violence has no place in any civilized society, particularly in a region like Jammu and Kashmir that has already suffered immense loss and devastation over the past 35 years.
