18 injured as tempo traveller meets accident in Rajouri

18 injured as tempo traveller meets accident in Rajouri

Rajouri, Apr 19: At least eighteen people sustained injuries, four of them critically, after a tempo traveller met with an accident at Tralla near Crusher Morh on the Darhal–Rajouri road in Rajouri district on Sunday.

According to officials, the accident occurred when the tempo traveller bearing registration number JK02AG-5946 lost control and plunged into roadside fields, resulting in injuries to all passengers onboard.

Soon after the incident, locals and authorities launched a rescue operation, and all eighteen injured persons were immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Associated Hospital Rajouri for treatment.

Doctors at the hospital confirmed that eighteen injured were received, of whom four are in critical condition and have been shifted to a specialised ward for advanced medical care.

Meanwhile, the hospital administration has put its emergency department on high alert to handle the situation, ensuring prompt treatment to the injured.

MLA Thanamandi Muzaffar Iqbal Khan also arrived at hospital and informed that hospital authorities have been asked to ensure best possible treatment to the injured.

He said that fortunately no loss of life has happened in the accident.

Additional District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Malikzada Sheraz-ul-Haq informed that doctors in hospitals are providing every possible medical aid to the injured and referral, if any, will depend on decision by doctors. 

The injured have been identified as Azishan (23), Abrar Ahmed (30), Mohammad Moreed (34), Shahid Ahmed (32), Shamim Akhter (42), Shamim Bi (24), Isama Kouser (20), Naseem Akhter (9), Mohammad Nazir (65), Toshiba Rehman (18), Mohammad Tazeem (12), Shabir Ahmed (67), Haseena Kouser (35), Muskrat Ali (40), Wahida Fatima (35), Tofeeq Ahmed (20), Umaria (13), and Bassar Hussain (40).
