Girls post higher pass percentage in Jammu class 12 results

JKBOSE announced the results of the February–March session for the Jammu Division (Summer Zone) Annual Regular 2026 examinations, recording an overall pass percentage of 89.79.

According to official data, a total of 39,309 students—20,376 boys and 18,933 girls—were enrolled for the examinations. Of these, 35,299 students qualified, including 18,117 boys and 17,182 girls.

The pass percentage among girls stood at 91 per cent, compared to 89 per cent among boys.

The figures further reveal that around 20,011 students passed with distinction, while 13,260 secured first division. As many as 2,021 students were placed in second division, and seven students obtained the third division.

A total of 3,891 students have been placed in the reappear category in various subjects, while 119 students failed in all subjects. Additionally, 20 students remained absent, 16 were marked under disputed eligibility, and the examination of three students was cancelled.

The examinations commenced on February 23, 2026, and concluded on March 28, 2026, with 336 examination centres set up across the Jammu Summer Zone.

In terms of institutional performance, government schools recorded a pass percentage of 87.82 per cent, with 22,828 students qualifying out of 25,993 who appeared. Private schools performed better, registering a pass percentage of 93.65 per cent, with 12,471 students qualifying out of 13,316.

Girls dominated the merit list, securing most of the top positions across streams.

In the Science stream, Ayushi Sharma of Happy Model HSS Udhampur secured the first position with 497 out of 500 marks. The second position was shared by five students—three girls, Akshra Khajuria, Tanshivi Sharma and Vanshika Sharma, along with two boys, Chitvan Mahajan and Rajveer Singh—each scoring 496 marks. The third position was shared by four students with 495 marks, including three girls, Arzoo Majeed, Janvi Gupta and Mitali Bhardwaj, and one boy, Sahitya Dagoria.

In the Commerce stream, Manik Dogra secured the first position with 497 marks, followed by Harshita with 496 marks. The third position was shared by four girls—Ashreen Kour, Diya Sharma, Gungun Sharma and Shradha Chettri—each scoring 495 marks.

In the Arts stream, the first position was jointly secured by two boys—Prince Prabhat Singh and Rudraansh Rajput—with 495 marks each. Angel Salathia secured the second position with 494 marks. The third position was shared by four girls—Muskaan Choudhary, Naina Devi, Nivriti Gupta and Sunali Khajuria—each scoring 493 marks.

In the Home Science stream, Siya Chouhan secured the top position with 458 marks, followed by Tejasvi with 445 marks. Ananya Raina secured the third position with 409 marks out of 500.
