Srinagar, Apr 23: National Conference (NC) Member of Parliament from Anantnag-Rajouri Mian Altaf Ahmad has sought parole for incarcerated Baramulla MP Er Rashid to allow him to visit his ailing father.
In a statement issued, Mian Altaf said Er Rashid’s father, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, is seriously ill and undergoing treatment. He urged the authorities to consider the case on humanitarian grounds and grant parole so that Er Rashid can meet his father.
“This is a humanitarian issue. Every person has the right to be with their parents during illness,” Mian Altaf said, adding that Er Rasheed should be allowed to see his ailing father.
