10 injured as newly constructed bridge collapses in Baramulla

Baramulla, June 25: At least ten persons were injured, including one critically, after a newly constructed bridge on the under-construction bypass road in Baramulla collapsed hours after its completion.

The injured were immediately shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla for treatment. One of the critically injured persons, who suffered a spinal injury, was later referred to a hospital in Srinagar for specialised medical care.

The incident has raised concerns over the quality of construction work with authorities expected to examine the circumstances that led to the collapse of the newly built structure.

Further details regarding the incident are awaited.
