Srinagar, July 8: Four teachers in Ganderbal district have been placed under suspension with immediate effect for alleged dereliction of duty related to the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra, officials said.
According to an order issued by the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Ganderbal, the action was taken following a communication from the Nodal Officer, Transit Camp Manigam (Assistant Commissioner Revenue), Ganderbal.
The suspended teachers have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Sheikh of Haripora Kangan, Aabid Mohi-ud-Din Bhat of Manigam, Peer Mudasir of Wussan and Gowhar Rashid Kuloo of Gund.
The order states that the suspension was issued in response to a letter from the Nodal Officer dated July 7, 2026, and took effect immediately.
Copies of the order have been forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Director School Education Kashmir, Nodal Officer Transit Camp Manigam, the concerned Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO), and the officials concerned for information and necessary action.
The order does not specify the exact nature of the alleged misconduct or negligence that led to the suspension. However, officials said the action was taken in connection with duties assigned during the ongoing Amarnath Yatra arrangements at the Manigam Transit Camp.
