Srinagar, Aug 08:Deputy Inspector General of Police Maqsood ul Zaman, IPS, Overall Supervisory Officer for Independence Day Parade-2026, reviewed the arrangements and preparations for the ceremonial parade during a meeting at APC Zewan on Friday.
The meeting was attended by subordinate supervisory officers and nodal officers from various departments associated with the Independence Day Parade-2026, who discussed the arrangements to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
During the meeting, the chair was apprised of the status of preparedness by the concerned officers. All aspects related to the conduct of the ceremonial parade were reviewed in detail and inter-departmental coordination issues were discussed threadbare.
The DIG issued necessary directions to all stakeholders to ensure the successful, smooth and colorful presentation of the Independence Day Parade.
Emphasis was laid on ensuring comfortable accommodation and timely refreshments for all parade contingents.
The chair also stressed the need for maintaining high standards of turnout, effective coordination among participating units and achieving precision and synchronization in drill to uphold the dignity and ceremonial excellence of the event.
