No work from home order for PM package employees: Div Com

Srinagar, Aug 14: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Friday said that no order has been issued asking PM package employees to work from home, urging people to rely only on authentic information shared through official government and administration channels.

Responding to reports that employees appointed under the Prime Minister’s Package had been verbally asked to work from home amid security concerns, Garg, said that no such order had been issued.

He said the administration has made necessary security arrangements for employees, residents and the general public ahead of the Independence Day celebrations in Srinagar.

“We should rely on the authentic information channels that are provided by the government and the administration,” he said.

Garg also extended Independence Day greetings to the people and invited residents to attend the main national event at Bakshi Stadium on Saturday, where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will unfurl the national flag and address the gathering at 10 am.

He said a full dress rehearsal for the Independence Day function was held at Bakshi Stadium on Thursday, with parade contingents and cultural groups participating after around 20 days of preparations.

He added that security agencies had conducted a detailed review of the arrangements to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the celebrations.—(KNO)
