Shah Faesal’s central deputation extended by two years till September 2028

New Delhi, Aug 20: The Centre has extended the central deputation tenure of IAS officer Shah Faesal, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, by another two years, according to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The extension has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and will remain effective beyond September 18, 2026, up to September 18, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Faesal, a 2010-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been on central deputation since September 19, 2022. He was posted as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Culture under the Central Staffing Scheme.

The DoPT memorandum, dated August 19, 2026, said the extension was approved on the proposal of the Ministry of Culture.

Faesal had joined the Indian Administrative Service in 2010 and served in Jammu and Kashmir before moving to the Centre on deputation.
