The Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Tournament 2026 got underway at Polo Ground, Srinagar Friday with the quarterfinal stage producing closely contested matches and Khalsa Sports Club and KIC Baramulla advancing to the semifinals.
KIC Baramulla, as per a statement, trailed 1-2 at half-time but fought back in the second half to seal a 3-2 win over KIC Tral, kicking off the knockout stage with a tightly contested match.
Khalsa Sports Club made a strong start, going into the break with a 2-0 lead over KIC Kupwara. They kept up the pressure in the second half and finished the match 4-2, booking their place in the semifinals.
