Jammu, Aug 29: Jammu Railway Division of the Northern Railway has restored the train service between Budgam and Katra from today, August 29, 2026.
“Keeping in view the convenience of passengers and devotees of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has taken this major passenger-friendly decision. Train number 04688/04687 has now been restored between Budgam (BDGM) to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) with effect from August. This train will run on its regular route from today,” Public Relations Inspector (PRI), Jammu Railway Division said.
According to PRI, train No. 04688 (Budgam to Katra) will depart from Budgam at 7.20 am and arrive at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station at 1 pm.
Train No. 04687 (Katra to Budgam) will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Railway Station at 1.45 pm and arrive at Budgam Railway Station at 8 pm.
With the restoration of this train, residents of the Kashmir valley, students, employees and pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Devi will get direct benefit. This service will prove to be an important link connecting the Valley with the Jammu region, PRI said.
