Shopian, Aug 29: Former minister Ghulam Hassan Khan died after a prolonged illness in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday evening, a family member said.
Khan, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader, was elected to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 2002. He later served as Minister of State for Social Welfare.
Khan later parted ways with the PDP and fought 2008 elections independently.
He will be laid to rest in his ancestral garveyard in Shopian.
