Banihal, Sep 04: Officials of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, held an interaction with representatives of around 15 madrasas in Ramban district to brief them about the university’s equivalency system and admission opportunities.
MANUU Sub-Regional Director Dr Abdul Ghani, accompanied by Dr Bilal Makhdoomi and Section Officer of the Regional Office Sudhir, visited Darul Hadith Salafiya, Imamabad, Ramban, where detailed discussions were held with madrasa managements.
During the meeting, the MANUU team explained the procedure, eligibility conditions, documentation and other formalities required for recognition/equivalency of madrasa qualifications under the university’s prescribed norms.
The officials informed the participants that madrasas seeking equivalency are required to fulfil certain conditions, including functioning under a properly constituted and registered body, maintaining details of their curriculum and teaching system, and having a transparent examination system, besides meeting other prescribed requirements.
The meeting also discussed MANUU’s distance education system, through which eligible students can pursue higher education while continuing their existing studies or teaching activities. The university provides academic support through its study centres in different areas.
The officials also highlighted the availability of higher education programmes through Urdu, which can provide an opportunity for students with a madrasa education background to continue their studies in various disciplines.
Madrasa representatives sought information from the MANUU officials on the equivalency process and related requirements. The university team explained the prescribed procedures and formalities and encouraged the institutions to follow the norms while applying for the facility.
