Jammu, Sep 12: Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting here to review the prevailing security situation and assess the action being taken against narco-terror networks and their support modules, officials said.
Inspector General of Police, Jammu Range, Tejinder Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, Shridhar Patil and other senior police and intelligence officers attended the meeting, the officials said.
“The DGP reviewed the security scenario and action against narco-terror modules, with all officers of Jammu Police,” Jammu Zone police said in a post on X.
The officials said the meeting focused on the emerging security challenges, particularly attempts by terror-linked networks to use narcotics as a means of generating funds and facilitating anti-national activities.
The DGP took stock of the measures being undertaken by the police to identify, investigate and dismantle such networks operating in the Jammu region, they said.
A police spokesperson said the meeting also reviewed the crime situation and laid emphasis on strengthening coordination, proactive policing and ensuring effective response to emerging security and law and order challenges.
