PDP leader urges early establishment of fire station in Shahabad Bala

During his visit, Malik, as per a statement, interacted with the affected families, shared their grief and expressed concern over the repeated fire incidents in the area. He said the absence of a dedicated Fire Service Station in Shahabad Bala has remained a serious concern, leaving residents vulnerable during emergencies.

Malik urged the government to expedite the establishment of a Fire Service Station in the area, stating that fire incidents reportedly occur almost every fortnight, posing a recurring threat to the lives and property of local residents.

He questioned the continued delay in the project, pointing out that the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor has already issued directions and land has also been identified for the proposed facility.

“When directions have already been issued and land has been identified, why are the people of Shahabad Bala still waiting for this essential public service? The safety of people and their property cannot be left at risk,” Malik said.

He appealed to the concerned authorities and Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, to intervene personally and ensure that the necessary formalities are completed without further delay.

Malik observed that Shahabad Bala is an underserved area where the lack of a nearby Fire Service Station can lead to devastating consequences during emergencies. He stressed that timely access to fire services is essential to prevent loss of life and minimise damage to homes and other property.

Expressing solidarity with the affected families, Malik urged the administration to take immediate and concrete measures to establish the Fire Service Station at the earliest. He said the repeated incidents and the hardships faced by residents warrant urgent attention from the government.
