Srinagar, Oct 16: Officials working in the Jammu and Kashmir administration require counselling on Human Rights and workplace ethics, abusive language while addressing official issues are highly uncouth, Said M.M. Shuja, well-known human rights activist and Chairman of J&K Peoples Forum.
Shuja, as per a statement, pointed out that senior officials should be cautious while addressing their subordinates and should not use any rude or abusive language. Holding an important position in the administration is a sign of dignity that requires mutual respect among officials.
Moreover, Shuja added that the concerned senior official must offer an apology to the junior official for his misconduct as such actions are uncalled for on the part of a responsible public servant.
Shuja requested the Chief Secretary to take due steps to ensure that the relevant instructions are issued to all the officials of different ranks to behave professionally and maintain harmonious relations at the workplace.
Good coordination and cooperation among various officials are vital for the smooth performance of governmental offices, such kinds of actions do not only create a bad impression among the officials themselves, but also create a wrong impression in the entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
