Shopian, Oct 16: Deputy Commissioner Shopian Charandeep Singh on Friday assured time-bound redressal of public grievances during an interaction with members of civil society, traders’ and transporters’ associations and other public representatives at the Mini-Secretariat here.
The DC said the doors of his office would always remain open to the public and encouraged people to approach him with their grievances, concerns and issues requiring administrative intervention.
He said responsive governance, effective grievance redressal and resolution of public issues would remain among his foremost priorities.
During the meeting, participants raised various public issues, demands and developmental concerns pertaining to their respective areas.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the participants and assured them that genuine grievances would be addressed through coordinated efforts of the concerned departments.
He stressed that public interaction and feedback were essential to strengthening governance and ensuring that developmental initiatives and public services met the needs and aspirations of the people.
Emphasising the need for collective efforts, the DC said coordinated action by the administration and the public was necessary to accelerate development in Shopian. He also listened to the demands and issues raised by the participants.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Zakir Hussain Faaz, Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Council, Suhail Ahmad, District Information Officer Sajad Ahmad Shah and other officers attended the meeting.
