Srinagar, Oct 27: The Centre has transferred two senior IAS officers, Ashwani Kumar and Dr Ashish Chander Verma, from Jammu and Kashmir to the Delhi segment of the AGMUT cadre, amid the impending change at the top of the Union Territory’s bureaucracy.
According to an order issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on October 27, Ashwani Kumar, a 1992-batch IAS officer, and Ashish Chander Verma, a 1994-batch officer, have been transferred with immediate effect. The transfers will remain in force until further orders.
Both officers are senior in batch to Sajjan Singh Yadav, a 1995-batch IAS officer appointed as the next Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir. Yadav is scheduled to assume charge on November 1, succeeding Atal Dulloo, who retires on October 31.
