MMU condemns stone pelting at Anantnag Mosque; calls for probe, punishment to miscreants

Srinagar, Nov 2: Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama (MMU) Jammu and Kashmir has strongly condemned the reported incident of stone-pelting at a mosque in Pehroo Sherbagh area of Anantnag during Isha prayers, resulting in injuries to worshippers and damage to the mosque.

Terming the incident deplorable, MMU said that the miscreants involved in this vandalism should immediately be held and punished according to law.

MMU emphasised that the sanctity of places of worship must be respected at all times, and any act of violence targeting worshippers or places of prayer is unacceptable. It further stressed the need to preserve unity among the Ummah, urging all concerned to exercise restraint and peaceful means to resolve any disputes, rather than resort to violence and vandalism.
