New Delhi, Nov 5: Lok Sabha Speaker has accepted the resignation of Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi as Member of Parliament from Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a notification issued by the Lok Sabha Secretariat on Thursday, Mehdi’s resignation has been accepted with effect from November 3, 2026.
Mehdi had already announced his resignation on November 3.
The notification, S.O. 6067(E), was published in The Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II-Section 3(ii).
With the acceptance of his resignation, the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat has now fallen vacant. (GNS)
