Bandipora, 31 May: The Razdan pass on Gurez-Bandipora road in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district received fresh snowfall on Saturday morning.
As rains continued to lash the district’s plains and the valley in particular plummeting the mercury, reports received by Greater Kashmir suggest that Razdan Top was covered in at least two-inch white blanket.
Notably, SDM Gurez also circulated an advisory after snowfall in Razdan Top and also suspended the traffic for further orders, “Due to snowfall at Razdan top and as a precautionary measure movement on Gurez Bandipora road shall remain suspended till further orders,” the SDM’s office stated.
Meanwhile OC BRO Avinash Kumar, which maintains the Bandipora-Gurez road told Greater Kashmir, “Road is closed due to snowfall and low visibility at Razdan. Snowfall still continues and road will be opened once snowfall stops.”
