Srinagar, Sep 17: Bharti Airtel’s anti-fraud measures have led to a sharp decline in cybercrime incidents and financial losses for its customers, according to new data released by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The I4C analysis shows a 68.7 per cent fall in the value of financial losses and a 14.3 per cent drop in cybercrime cases on Airtel’s network. The findings compare data from September 2024, before the launch of Airtel’s fraud and spam detection solution, with June 2025.
Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, said the company was committed to eliminating spam and financial fraud. “Over the past year, our AI-powered solutions identified more than 48.3 billion spam calls and blocked 3.2 lakh fraudulent links. While this is progress, we see it as part of a much larger fight. We will continue to invest until our networks are free of spam and scams,” he said.
