New Delhi, Jul 17: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated several cooperative and employment-linked initiatives at the ‘Sahkar & Rojgar Utsav’ in Jaipur, marking India’s lead in launching the International Year of Cooperatives – 2025. The event, attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, former CM Vasundhara Raje, and senior officials, featured the virtual inauguration of 24 grain storage warehouses and 64 millet outlets. Loans were distributed under the Gopal Credit Card scheme, micro-ATMs were provided to dairy societies, and two Primary Agricultural Credit Societies were felicitated for outstanding work.

Among other launches were the White Revolution 2.0 online registration portal for dairy cooperatives, a compilation of success stories from rural development schemes, and the release of 100 new vehicles for the Rajasthan Police.

Amit Shah highlighted the rapid expansion of cooperative institutions under the Modi government, noting that 40,000 of the proposed 2 lakh new PACS have already been formed, with complete computerisation underway. He also underscored government support for farmers through guaranteed MSP purchases on pulses, oilseeds, and maize via the NAFED and NCCF platforms.

Rajasthan’s contribution to agriculture was praised, with the state leading in the production of cluster beans, mustard, and millets. Shah also announced cooperative-led research into camel conservation and the medicinal value of camel milk. The Minister outlined the Modi government’s welfare achievements, including housing, electricity, food security, and health coverage for the poor. He also credited Rajasthan’s BJP government for restoring administrative efficiency, addressing paper leak scandals, and attracting record investment.
