Srinagar, May 11: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi on Sunday reviewed the ongoing security situation of the western borders with top Army commanders and granted them full authority for counteraction to any violation of the understanding reached between Director General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan on May 10.
Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army) on its official X handle informed that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) took strong cognizance of ceasefire and airspace violations on night of 10-11 May 2025 by Pakistan, and gave defined directions to Army commanders on counteraction measures.
“Consequent to the ceasefire and airspace violations on night of 10-11 May 2025, General Upendra Dwivedi, COAS reviewed the security situation with the Army Commanders of the Western Borders,” ADG PI – India Army said on X.
“The COAS has granted full authority to the Army Commanders for counteraction in the kinetic domain to any violation of the understanding reached vide the DGMO talks of 10 May 2025,” the Army added on X.
