New Delhi, Jan 7: As part of the second phase of nationwide commemorations marking 150 years of the Rashtriya Geet “Vande Mataram”, the Indian Army will organise Military Band performances at prominent public locations across the country from January 19 to 26, 2026.
The initiative aims to honour the historical and emotional significance of the national song while fostering patriotism and unity through dignified public performances.
Band displays will be held across multiple states and Union Territories, including Patna and Gaya in Bihar; Ranchi in Jharkhand; Lucknow and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh; Dehradun; Raipur; Gopalpur; Bengaluru; Jabalpur; Mumbai and Pune; Hyderabad; Shimla; Kargil; Jaipur; and at Naihati in West Bengal, the birthplace of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay. In New Delhi, the performances will take place at India Gate. A special performance by the Army Symphony Band is scheduled at India Gate on January 18, 2026. Each programme will be of approximately 45 minutes’ duration and will be held between 2 pm and 5 pm.
