JKPCC president lauded the Supreme Court for admonishing the BJP minister from MP for his condemnable utterances about a woman Army Officer yet questioned the silence of top BJP leadership.
Karra reiterated that the nation needed to be taken into confidence over various questions right from the Pahalgam carnage to the announcement of a ceasefire by a third country which happened for the first time in the history of the country.
Referring to, what he said, ìserious security lapseî, he said, ìThe security of UT is under the Home Ministry directly so the government must own the serious security lapse leading to the martyrdom of 26 persons.î
Karra said that the Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi rightly questioned the Minister for External Affairs vis-‡-vis his statement to inform Pakistan about ëOperation Sindoor.î ìThe ceasefire announcement by the US President came as a surprise to the entire nation. The US President further claimed that he used trade to get the ceasefire between the two countries, which is again a very serious issue and needs answers from the Prime Minister,î Karra said.
Emphasising that J&K ìis an integral part of India and all outstanding issues including the illegal occupation of PoJK is a bilateral issue, especially after the ëSimla agreementí, JKPCC president said it was the dynamic leadership of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi that she rejected all threats of US and took decisions in the best interests of the country.
Mir lauded the armed forces for their role and saluted their bravery and devotion to the country. He said it was the Congress party which first announced full support to the nation and the armed forces for any action to give a befitting response to terrorism and Pakistan after the Pahalgam carnage. Mir also questioned why the Prime Minister was silent on the important questions being raised by the defence experts, intellectuals and the opposition party.
Raman Bhalla said that the country was proud of its armed forces and would always remain indebted to them for protecting and preserving its sovereignty and integrity. He said that ëJai Hind Yatrasí would be conducted in all districts to salute the brave armed forces.
Bhalla accused BJP of making attempts to take political mileage out of the ëOperation Sindoorí conducted by the armed forces.
