Banihal, Jan 23: In view of the forthcoming snowfall season, the Sub-Divisional Administration Banihal has established a 24×7 Control Room to ensure effective coordination and timely response to snowfall-related emergencies across the sub-division.
An official order issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Banihal, Mohdmammd Naseeb (JKAS), stated that the Control Room will function round the clock and maintain close liaison with field staff and Quick Response Teams (QRTs) to deal with any exigency arising due to snowfall.
The Control Room includes officers from key departments such as Revenue, Police, Traffic, Health, Public Works Department (PWD), PMGSY, Power Development Department (JPDCL), Jal Shakti, Food Supplies, and Municipal Committee Banihal. Senior officers including Tehsildars of Banihal and Khari, SDPO Banihal, Dy SP Traffic, Block Medical Officers, Executive Engineers, and other concerned officials have been designated with specific responsibilities.
The order further directs the Tehsildar Banihal and Tehsildar Khari to establish control rooms in their respective tehsils and ensure seamless coordination with all line departments for prompt action during snowfall.
Members of the Control Room have been instructed to attend to snowfall-related issues immediately and ensure proper reporting. The general public has been advised to contact the notified helpline numbers in case of any emergency.
The initiative aims to minimize inconvenience to the public and ensure safety during the winter season in Banihal and adjoining areas.
