Cyber police detain terminated Prof, content creator over objectionable content on social media

Srinagar, May 22: Cyber Police Station Srinagar today detained a terminated Professor and a social media content creator for allegedly uploading and circulating objectionable content on social media platforms.

An official said that Cyber Police today detained Abdul Bari Naik, a terminated professor from Kulgam, and content creator for social media platforms Asifa Bashir, resident of Chattabal Srinagar.

“The duo has been booked for disseminating and uploading objectionable content concerning complainants on Facebook and other platforms,” he said.

Abdul Bari Naik was handed over to Police Station Shergari, while Asifa Bashir was placed under custody at the Women’s Police Station Rambagh.

The official said that both are involved in case FIR 06/2025 U/S 67, 67-A IT Act and 75(3), 79, 356(2) BNS disseminating /uploading objectionable contents of applicants on social media platforms.
